FOR FURTHER INFORMATION AND BOOKINGS TEL DCAF 01363 82571.

We have changed the name of this event from the "Devon's Collectors Festival" to ConTrad Expo in order to reflect more accurately the range and exciting mix of Contemporary and Traditional items that will be brought together at Westpoint for the first time.

So that we have enough time to ensure that the show will be a huge success for exhibitors and a great buying opportunity for visitors, we have delayed the launch of this totally new event we had planned for April 26th & 27th until August 16th & 17th, giving us a full 6 months to organise and promote the show as widely as possible. So that our exhibitors and visitors do not miss a trading opportunity in April, we are holding a Matford Fair on Saturday 26 April.

The new event will allow both regular and new exhibitors the chance to offer a much wider selection of items to buyers, ranging from TRADITIONAL antiques, retro, collectables, furniture and memorabilia, to 20th century CONTEMPORARY art and design, sculpture, photography, pottery, ceramics, studio glass, textiles, lighting, jewellery, and individual items of hand made furniture, etc.

This format of combining the old with the new is well established in America, and has proved to be very successful when recently introduced into England. It proved to significantly increase attendance by attracting a wider range of collectors, who are looking to buy beautiful and unusual items for their homes.

We have had an excellent response to the new event and already have over 130 exhibitors who have booked for August, including two West country artists, Rufus White and Louise Philips.

We also hope to be able to offer added interest for visitors by way of talks, demonstrations, displays and workshops covering areas such as interior design, restoration, specialist collectables etc.

DCAF intend to further broaden the appeal of these events by offering a limited number of Outside Pitches which will be on the hard standing next to the hall. These pitches will conform to the same standards as the inside stands, and will be accessible to buyers only via the main hall.

A completely new promotional and advertising campaign is planned, including advertising in the brand new, Homexplorer Interiors Magazine, that is due to be launched in March.

There will be a completely new layout of the hall for this event, with blocks of  stands of various sizes, facing in different directions and spaced throughout the hall - rather than our usual traditional rows and aisles in a “grid format” with standfitted, backed and table top sections going up the hall.

This new layout also offers more flexibility for groups of dealers wishing to book together or create “specialist” sections within the fair.

DCAF are able to offer exhibitor's outstanding value for money for stand rentals.

We hope that you will join with us to make ConTrad Expo one of the main Events to participate in or visit during 2008.
Contrad will have its own website www.contradexpo.co.uk
which is under construction at present.
