LARGEST SATURDAY ANTIQUE AND COLLECTORS FAIRS IN THE COUNTRY

 

Devon County Antiques Fairs first fair of 2008 will be held at the Matford Centre in Exeter on Saturday 5th January

 

This event which is the largest Saturday only event of its kind in the country offers visitors the opportunity to see 230 inside stands and with up to a further 100 outside and 250 undercover outside stands available this is a fair not to be missed.

 

What ever your interest you are sure to find something to suit at Matford with exhibitors offering everything from Furniture, Clocks and Barometers to Jewellery, Silver, Porcelain and Ceramics as well as the more unusual items this fair is well worth a visit.

 

Regular exhibitors, La femme of Somerset, will be bringing a wonderful selection of Vintage and Bespoke jewellery. One of the many items that will be found on their stand E12 is an exquisite diamond, amethyst and natural pearl necklace that can be converted into a broche. This item is late Victorian/early Edwardian and is one of the finest examples of it’s type to be found on the antiques & collectors circuit and is priced at £2900. La femme offer a wide range of stunning rings, bracelets and earrings along side a  bespoke jewellery design service to meet all tastes and budgets so this is a stand not to be missed if you are looking to buy something of beauty.

 

 

Regular Exhibitors Chapel Antiques of Devon can be found on stand M08 and will as always have a wonderful display of Silver items including a fine Exeter Silver Victorian Fiddle Pattern Soup Ladle. This ladle is 12” long and made by James & Josiah Williams, hallmarked 1855 & priced at £325. Another fine item is a Victorian Fiddle Thread & Shell Basting Spoon, this spoon is 13” long in excellent condition, hallmarked Exeter 1875 and made by J Wipple & Co priced at £285. Also available is a Large Ornate Mid Victorian Jug, made by James & Josiah Williams, with both hand chasing in the form of sea scrolls, embossed with a garland of roses and seated on a very ornate foot. This jug is 6.75in high and 4ins in diameter hallmarked Exeter 1869 and priced at £425.
  
             

Early Entry to the Matford Centre Fairs is from 9am – 10am at £4 with General Entry from 10am to 4.30pm at £3 with Children under 16 Free.
