Westpoint March 1st & 2nd 2008
After an unusual 11 week break the Premier Quality Antiques, Fine Art & Collectors Fair at the Westpoint Exhibition Centre on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March returns for the first of only three Antiques & Collectors fairs to be held at this venue in 2008 and promises not to disappoint
The Westpoint fairs, have become one of the top regional events in the antiques world, and features up to 300 Exhibitors, offering you the choice of over half a million items, ranging from quality furniture and decorative items of all periods, textiles, costumes and linens, early 18th to 20th century porcelain and ceramics, pictures, prints, silver, glass, clocks, barometers, traditional lamps, books, coins, medals, militaria, antique bedsteads, carpets, rugs, fireplaces and a host of all types of collectables and accessories. From the exquisite and beautiful, unusual, functional and “unique”, they were all made by craftsmen and women of a bygone era, offering a quality, that is not only usually unsurpassed today, but can also be a sound financial investment for the future.
These fairs attract visitors from all ages and backgrounds, from those enjoying their retirement to young people just starting out furnishing their homes or adding to collections they started as children.
Devon County Antiques Fairs are not “stuffy” formal events, but are an enjoyable, friendly and informative day out, providing the equivalent of up to 300 “Antique Shops” all under one roof. They are a wonderful place to find that “special piece” you are looking for, with prices from £1 upwards to thousands for the rare and exquisite, there is Something for Everyone.

This fair sees the return of regular Exhibitor, M & M Antiques of Devon, on Stand A02, where you will be able to find an exceptional late 19th/ early 20th Century bronze of Pluto, God of the underworld with his three headed dog Cerberus. This wonderful Bronze is signed by the sculptor Lucio and displays an outstanding attention to detail and a quality of casting which is rarely seen. This bronze is priced at £1895.
If Royal Worcester is of interest to you, then Lapada member, Scottow Antiques on Stand Z03 is not to be missed, not only will you be dazzled by the fantastic array of designs on display by such artists as Henry Chair, Frank Roberts and Richard Sebright, to name just a few, but also the specialist knowledge that will be awaiting your questions. Amongst the outstanding pieces for sale on this stand is a Royal Worcester Ewer by Harry Davis. This ewer depicts two rams, is circa 1909 and priced at £3800
Another regular Exhibitor at Westpoint is Stephen Dymond Antiques from Cornwall, where on his stand A19 will be a wonderful Burr walnut & Kingwood Victorian Jardinière with its original top. This piece is circa 1870 and priced at £2100. Another quality item will be a George11 mahogany Canterbury, that use to be used for storing music sheets, this piece is circa 1810 and priced at £1500.
There will also be a fabulous selection of Victorian Pearl & Ivory card cases with prices starting from £95.

If you are a lover of music then these two Blue felt tip autographs of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel on an original cover to their classic album Bridge Over Troubled Water. Double mounted in cream and black with the original vinyl record and professionally framed in black is a steal. Price at £395. As we are all aware any Frank Sinatra memorabilia is always of interest to collectors and this very rare small vintage photo card of Frank Sinatra signed by him in green ink and mounted with two classic images Price - £495 would inherence any collection.
